Understanding Faith

Introduction

This session is a continuation on faith taken from Hebrew and ending in the book of Roman. Let your mind reach deep into what is being said, and put your heart into it. The writer of Hebrew and Paul is trying to make a point, that everyone should dig deeper into this POWER that God has given us.

ROMAN 5:1 w/text from Hebrew 11:1 and 6 (scriptures)

I want to tell you about "THE" greatest element of our christian relationship with Christ. I'm talking about spiritual power we almost always overlook. It's called "FAITH." Oh! we come to church and sing and shout, even run up and down the isles rejoicing in the Lord. But, we lack faith in him. We sometime pretend that, oh!, "the Lord has been good to me, because I serve him." "He gave me this or that." "Oh I thank you Jesus." We even scream praises and praises and praises! Preachers preach, "it's in the praise!" But wait a minute. All of this is good stuff. And we should, if the spirit moves us. And by all means do Praise him. It is a Christian duty to always praise the creator. But are we really receiving from God like we say? Or, do we psycologically think it and say it. Are you aware that the worldly folks are healed and raise up? Do you not notice how they have good jobs, big homes, very good businesses, lovely families, and of course enjoying the hex out of life? And they will even tell you that God made it possible. You look at them and it seems that they never have the kind of long term problems or long term sicknesses like you do. You can't understand it because you go to church and praise the lord and things seems to be getting worse or your little ole mind began to doubt the power and even the existance of God. But, I have news for you though. If you read Psalm 73, the life of Asap, you'll see that the good life without God has it's eternal reward in hell. And, oh yea, their sicknesses are just as bad as yours. In fact worst. When the doctors have done all they can do, the worldly have nothing left, unless they turn to God. But you, the saints...you are resting in his bossom at all times if you will only realize it. When the doctors have done all they can do, it's not over for us. We still have the best doctor who ever lived still attending to our needs. Hebrew 13:5, the writer quoted Jesus as saying, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." James 5:14 says, "If any sick, among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: [15] And the prayer of "FAITH" shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;"

Why are christians always sick and having problems that constanly bombbard us? We're going to church every time the doors open. We have a really good time while we're there. Some come forth to every altar call. What is the mater? Well, there are two things that could be hampering you. I know you don't want to hear this, but the first is being unsaved. You know the church is full of people who love going to church, but does not really want to seperate themselves from the things of this world. 11 Corinthians 6:17 says, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean things and I will "RECEIVE YOU." These are wishy washers who are confused about the word. These are they who still have worldly attitudes, and habits. They have not fully conformed to the complete word of God, since this is the only way we may enter heaven. No sin will get there. Galatian 5:21 says, "they which does such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." If this is you, then you need to repent of your sins and not only let others see the change, but let the change be felt in you. See the sinner's prayer. The other is faith!
